Samhradh samhradh shawl Knit Along

We will have a Knit Along for Samhradh samhradh shawl starting on June 14 and you are invited to join it! We'll also have a prize for one lucky participant who completes the shawl!

What is a Knit Along and why you should join
Knitting can sometimes feel lonely and so we decided to hold an online Knit Along, also known as KAL, to connect with knitters around the world. The idea is that we knit the shawl together and share our progress with each other online, so that if anyone is feeling a little stuck or has questions about the pattern, then we can help each other.

The Knit Along is also a great opportunity to meet other makers, make friends, and to have a bit of fun!

The project
We will be knitting the Samhradh samhradh shawl designed with hand-dyed yarn from Sionnach Yarns. The project is suitable for a complete beginner, and if you only know how to knit back and forth, you will have no problem with this pattern. And remember, we will be there to help you and cheer you along the way!

When
We will aim to cast on the shawls on June 14 and finish on July 14.
You can join at any time and don't have to finish the shawl by the deadline, but we will have a prize draw for all finished projects and will select one winner at random!

Where
The Knit Along will be held online on Instagram and my Ravelry group.
If you are a knitter registered on Ravelry, then join the group and introduce yourself. Registering on Ravelry is easy and completely free.
If you are joining on Instagram, then share photos of your shawl and tag them using #samhradhsamhradhshawl (and tag myself @ahazelgrouse and @sionnachyarns so we can see the post).

Finally, if you are attending Woollinn this year, I’ll be there, find me and say hello, and we’ll cast on the shawl together!

What you will need
You will need 4 mm / US 6 circular knitting needles, the Samhradh samhradh shawl pattern, which you can purchase from my website or Ravelry with 25% discount until June 14 using discount code SUMMER25, and yarn.
The yarn I used is two skeins of fingering weight yarn and one skein of kid silk mohair.
If you are unsure about which yarn to use, then full shawl kits are available and they can be delivered anywhere in the world. The kit includes a printed copy of the pattern, a free digital download (PDF), and all the yarn you will need for this project.
Until June 14 you can also get a 10% discount on the kit using code KITSHAWL The kit includes

Prize
If you compete your shaw by July 14, your project will enter a prize draw and we'll select the winner using random number generator! The prize is a free pattern from me and a skein on hand-dyed yarn from Sionnach Yarns.
