Hiya friends! Thank you for stopping by.

My name is Anya and I design patterns for hand knitting inspired by nature that surrounds me here in the west of Ireland.

I was born in Russia and have spent most of my adult life living in France, Scotland and now Ireland. I design from a small studio on the Seanbhóthar, the Old Road, near Clonbur, County Galway. This road is an important source of inspiration for me. No one really knows how old it is, but locals recall that a very long time ago, women used to walk this road carrying wool from my village to the coast in Connemara.

Living here between forests, hills, and bogs, I feel very close to nature, and the changing seasons, and so I design clothes that are suitable for wearing outdoors. I am a falconer, a foraging guide, and I run a smallholding where I grow organic vegetables, keep chickens, and make home-made wine.

I learned to knit from my Russian granny. She always loved bright colours and it seems that colourwork is in my genes too.

The yarn that I use to design my patterns is sourced locally, and I prefer yarn that is produced in an environmentally friendly way.
